Holiday!

I've taken a holiday from my own blog, lol, and I think it has paid off. Things have been moving steadily forward with some new goals on the horizon and some additions to the training plan. The future is so bright,,,we better wear shades!

I've been down with what may have been a mild case of the flu for the past few days. Equally possible it was just training burn out as I have certainly been pushing the edge of the envelope. Around 45 days until the 10k race. A few months before we face the half marathon and now considering a sprint triathalon AND a full marathon on the international level for mid 2010. After a 20+ year hiatus, surfing is back in the game plan and it seems like pushing myself to newer and higher heights has become the status quo.

With three days off, daughter and I will surf in the morning. Really looking forward to this and hoping conditions are good here in the shark bite capital of the world! Sunday will include a 44 mile round trip bike ride on the paved trail from Highbridge to St. Augustine and Monday will be trail biking in Geneva. I got nuthin but love for these plans!

Current hope is to drive the running miles up by about 10% and get the weekly biking miles up to around 100 a week steady and increase from there. Surfing beats lapping the pool any day but should accomplish the baseline for triathalon fitness in that department. Hurricane season usually makes for the nicest waves of the year with offshore pushes bringing the waves in close and big.

I've been taking photos like mad and hope to have some great ones to post by the end of the weekend!
